Over the last few years, I have had the enjoyable and rewarding experience of working with Tangent Films on a number of projects. As architects we are very dependant on the way our ideas are communicated to the wider public. Still photographs have their place, however, to have the spatial and social ideas clearly communicated through film adds a very special dimension to the recording process.

Kings Place is an unusual building bringing together social and artistic aims in the context of a commercial office building. The personality behind the project, Peter Millican, has a mixture of idealism and practicality in his approach to architecture that is really worth giving permanent record. Michael Hutchinson and Peter Clarke have produced a remarkable series of short films covering every aspect of this unique project. This has been done with sensitivity to all involved - the quiet presence of the filming crew allowing everyday activities to continue in a relaxed manner.

We have also made a film together about a competition submission for a project in St Petersburg. Here the challenge was to unite presentation material with a conversation between the two architects involved. Again we were totally satisfied with the end result.

Michael and Peter are great to work with, they are good company and have an intelligent and knowledgeable engagement with the topics they are looking at. I am hoping that we can work with them again.
